It’s fun and exciting to think about transforming your backyard into an oasis, but great backyards don’t happen by accident. They’re the result of careful planning, design and execution.
Taking on a landscape project yourself can be stressful and overwhelming — there’s so much more to think about than what kind of plants to put in the garden or how many paving stones to buy.
You have to think about drainage issues, the kind of tools and materials you need, permits (if necessary), safety gear and so much more.
Many people have a vision for their backyards — they imagine themselves watching the fire dance in a firepit or cooking epic barbecues in their outdoor kitchen — but they may not have the time, expertise or desire to do the project themselves.
That’s why most people turn to the experts.
The right designer can take your vision and turn it into something truly remarkable!
When Frank and Sandy first came to us, they had a vision of a beautiful backyard, where friends would come to relax and spend time with them outdoors — but they’d had bad experiences with contractors before and were a bit hesitant at first.
After hearing about our design process, we were able to put their minds at ease.
See their stunning landscape and hear what they have to say about working with the team at Plants Creative:
What happens during the design process?
The design process has three basic components. Let’s take a brief look at what you can expect during each one, with helpful videos that explain it all.
1. Dream — Designing your space.
In this phase, we get to know you and the hopes and dreams you have for your property.
After you contact us, we’ll ask you to fill out a simple questionnaire — this helps us understand what it is you’re looking for and which of our three design packages is the best fit for you.
After completing the questionnaire we’ll arrange a site visit where we’ll go over your property with you and discuss your project. This normally takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
During that time we’ll come up with a design agreement, and when you’re ready to move forward the design process will begin.
This phase is explained beautifully in this short video:
2. Build — Construction and bring your vision to life.
After your space is designed, we’ll arrange a time for our crew to come to your property and start building your dream landscape.
Before the shovels hit the dirt, there’s a pre-construction meeting so everyone is on the same page and things go smoothly.
During construction, our professional and friendly crew will keep your property clean and organized while your project moves forward — we want you to start enjoying your property as soon as possible!
Before your project is complete, you’ll have an opportunity to ask questions or address concerns in a final walk-through.
We’ll walk you through this phase in the short video below:
3. Enjoy — Caring for your space and keeping your vision alive!
This is the fun part!
At Plants Creative Landscapes, we encourage you to get out and enjoy your property — meander through your garden, have friends and family stop by to share a meal or just relax on the back patio while you sip a glass of wine — and we’re here to help you keep it looking great!
A maintenance plan with Plants Creative isn’t a one-size-fits-all plan. We take the time to go through your property and find the program that’s right for you.
If you’re curious about what to expect from a maintenance plan, our Operation Manager, Matt and Property Care Manager, Joseph tell you what to expect in this short video:
