June is here and that means we’re officially 15 years old! Wow, what a wild ride it’s been!
Plants Creative was born in my driveway in 2005 with a small, simple goal: mow lawns part-time so I could attend UGA to work on my horticulture degree. I never considered what success or failure would look like. I didn’t know to dream BIG. I didn't make a plan, set goals, or always hire the right people. I also didn't know that Plants Creative had a purpose that was bigger than mowing lawns.
There have been mistakes made along the way and decisions that I would have made differently given the benefit of hindsight and maturity. But there are no regrets. The lessons learned have been an invaluable part of my journey of owning and growing a landscape company. I’ve always believed that new opportunities will show up when you are passionate about the work you’re doing and when you take good care of people. I also believe that the harder you work, the luckier you get. I am fortunate beyond words to be the leader of this company, building a team of professionals who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for themselves and within our industry, passionately in service to our customers.
Throughout the years, we’ve come to understand that our purpose — our reason for being — is to improve the relationship people have with the outdoor places they live, work and play in. This purpose guides daily operational decisions as well as the bigger picture as we map out our future. Now more than ever, as work and play spaces have unexpectedly become one for so many, we see the powerful impact of our purpose improving lives. Families and friends are spending more time together in beautiful outdoor spaces.
There are many things that we don't know about the next 15 years. There will be new problems to solve that will require us to adapt and change course. This is the exciting part of business and life: change is constant and while our future can be planned, it remains unpredictable. However, there are two things that will be certain in our future: we will remain clear and committed to our purpose. And we will never stop working towards our vision of delivering landscape services and customer experiences that are unmatched in our industry.
Thank you for being a part of our journey!
Cheers to the past 15 years and cheers to what's next!
