Our Warranty

Thank you for choosing us as a partner in your landscape project.  

If you're not satisfied with your project for any reason, let us know and our entire team will do our best to make it right.

PLEASE NOTE:  As of May 1, 2021, Plants Creative has implemented a price inflation policy.  Due to ongoing increases in material costs throughout our industry, we will guarantee signed contract pricing for materials for 30 days.  After 30 days, we will review material prices to ensure no changes to contract pricing are necessary.  When adjustments are necessary, we will send a revised proposal for review and acceptance. Please know we will do our absolute best to honor original contract pricing, and that adjustments will only be made in situations where material costs are significantly greater than those included on approved proposals. 

All plant material, hardscape materials, lighting fixtures, and drainage/irrigation components, will be guaranteed to either meet or exceed industry standards.  Plant sizes specified herein are in accordance with U.S.A.S Standard for Nursery Stock, 1969, sponsored by the American Association of Nurserymen.  Specimen plant material will be hand selected to ensure the highest quality and sod varieties will be guaranteed true to name.  

 

Please review the following Guarantees and let us know if you have any questions prior to signing your project agreement.  Please note that projects will not be scheduled without receipt of a signed proposal and deposit, as outlined within “Payment Terms”.  All Guarantees become effective based on the final invoice date and all accounts are due upon receipt of invoice and payable within fifteen (15) days. Final payments that exceed fifteen (15) days can void any and all stated warranties unless arrangements are made with a member of our management team. There are no warranties which extend beyond the description set forth herein. In no event, including in the case of a claim of negligence, shall the seller be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Plants Creative will make no cash refunds for work performed and the customer agrees that Plants Creative’s liability shall be limited to the original cost of the plants and materials.


Customers with Property Care and Irrigation Service Plans:


For all customers with a full-service property care plan and an irrigation service plan, we offer the following warranty: 

  • Plant Material*: We offer a full replacement guarantee on all newly installed plant material, as long as the irrigation system provides reliable coverage to beds, for as long as your service is active. Any plants that require a replacement will be the same size, color, and plant type as the original installation, assuming availability. If a larger plant of the same type is requested, the customer will be required to pay the difference in cost. If plant material must be replaced more than once, our team will assess the viability of plant placement, soil conditions, and light conditions to determine the best option for replacement. 
  • Sod*: We offer a full guarantee on newly-installed sod for customers with a full-service property care plan that includes lawn treatments and a Hydrate service plan, as long as the irrigation system provides reliable coverage to newly installed sod, for as long as your services are active. If all or a portion of the sod must be replaced more than once, our team will assess the viability of soil conditions and light conditions to determine the best option for replacement.
  • Transplanted material, bare root material, plants not purchased by PCL, seasonal vegetables, lawn and flower seed and bulbs are not covered under any warranty. 


*Please note that both plant material and sod are covered for as long as the property conditions remain the same. Unanticipated changes to the property like additional shade from large tree growth over time or erosion from neighboring properties will require a separate proposal for work and incur additional costs to the customer.  


Customers with a past due balance on their property care or Hydrate irrigation service plans must pay past due balance in full prior to any warranty work being completed. If past due balance results in the pausing of maintenance or irrigation services, this warranty no longer applies. If either service plan is cancelled for any reason, this warranty no longer applies. If applicable, the customer is still eligible for the following warranty: 


Customers With Automatic Irrigation Systems (without Property Care Plan and/or Irrigation Service Plan):

Customers who have a functioning automatic irrigation system with proper coverage of the newly installed sod or plant material but 1) only have a Property Care Plan, 2) only have an Irrigation Service Plan, or 3) have neither a Property Care Plan or an Irrigation Service Plan, will receive the following warranty:

  • Trees, Shrubs and Perennials:  We offer a one (1) year replacement guarantee for customers who have a functional automatic irrigation system. The automatic irrigation system should provide reliable coverage to all newly-planted material. Replacement plants will be as close as possible to equal size of what was originally installed. Any plants that require a replacement will be the same size, color, and plant type as the original installation, assuming availability. If a larger plant of the same type is requested, the customer will be required to pay the difference in cost. If plant material must be replaced more than once, our team will assess the viability of plant placement, soil conditions, and light conditions to determine the best option for replacement.
  • Sod:  We offer a six (6) month guarantee for customers with a lawn chemical treatment plan that provides either synthetic or organic fertilizers and weed control products and with an automatic irrigation system that provides reliable coverage to the newly-installed sod. If all or a portion of the sod must be replaced more than once, our team will assess the viability of soil conditions and light conditions to determine the best option for replacement.  
  • Transplanted material, seasonal color installation, bare root material, plants not purchased by PCL, seasonal vegetables, lawn and flower seed and bulbs are not covered under any warranty. 


Customers Without Automatic Irrigation Systems but with a Property Care Plan:

Customers who do not have a functioning automatic irrigation system but enroll in a Property Care Plan with Plants Creative Landscapes will receive the following warranty:

  • Trees, Shrubs and Perennials:  We offer a one (1) month replacement guarantee for customers, assuming appropriate watering of the newly installed plant material. An assessment must be performed by a Plants Creative representative prior to approval of a warranty replacement. Replacement plants will be as close as possible to equal size of what was originally installed. Any plants that require a replacement will be the same size, color, and plant type as the original installation, assuming availability. If plant material must be replaced more than once, our team will assess the viability of plant placement, soil conditions, and light conditions to determine the best option for replacement.
  • Sod:  We offer a one (1) month guarantee for customers with a lawn chemical treatment plan that provides either synthetic or organic fertilizers and weed control products, assuming appropriate watering of the newly installed sod. Customers Without Automatic Irrigation Systems or Property Care Plan:


Customers without an automatic irrigation system will accept full responsibility for watering of all plants installed that are consistent with the standard practices of watering plants in Zone 7 (in the Atlanta area) or applicable growing zone. Plant material, sod, and transplanted material, seasonal color installation, bare root material, plants not purchased by PCL, seasonal vegetables, lawn and flower seed and bulbs will receive no warranty for customers without automatic irrigation systems.


We provide detailed watering and care instructions upon the completion of every project.  Please ask us if you're unsure and notify our office at the first sign of a potential problem. 


Outdoor Elements Guarantees: 

 

Our hardscape projects will be fully guaranteed for a period of three (3) years. This includes fire pits and fireplaces, patios, retaining walls, walkways, wood elements including arbors, pergolas, fences and decks, as well as water features.   Additionally, every component installed by our team in outdoor living spaces such as grills/smokers, wine coolers/refrigerators, pizza ovens, outdoor televisions/sound systems, and spas will have a three (3) year labor and materials warranty.  We only install high quality products and often these products will have an extended warranty offered by the manufacturer that exceeds our three (3) year guarantee. This information will be provided to you upon completion of construction.  We also encourage you to discuss any warranty questions with your project manager prior to commencement of the job.  Additional warranty details are as follows:


  • We recommend sealing both natural stone and concrete/brick pavers to help protect against both natural and person-made elements as well as to prolong the life of your hardscape investment.  This is especially recommended for flat surfaces such as patios and walkways.  There are a variety of sealers available, and much like paint products, offer a wide range of finishes including matte and gloss.  Our project managers will discuss your options on an individual basis and provide recommendations to you. 


  • We recommend sealing and/or staining wood work to prolong the life of the wood.  Options should be discussed with your project manager prior to commencement of your project. 


  • Concrete and grout will crack.  These cracks will be very minor, but due to heating and freezing of both of these products, you can expect to see minor imperfections develop over time. If you believe these imperfections to be beyond the norm, please contact us so we can take a look. 


  • We will do our best to provide accurate color samples of various products prior to commencement of your project. However, Plants Creative Landscapes cannot guarantee exact color match of sample products as both natural stone and concrete products will vary in color. Colors will be very close, but will not be 100% exact. 


  • Lighting Systems:  Our transformers are warranted for as long as you own your home and our fixtures offer a three (3) year bulb replacement guarantee.  While we will be glad to install fixtures and transformers provided by our customers, please know they will not receive any type of warranty.  Fixtures that are damaged by wildlife and weather events will not be covered under warranty.  Accidental damage incurred during landscape maintenance by a Plants Creative crew will be repaired at no charge while damage incurred by another maintenance company will be repaired at the customer's expense.   


  • Irrigation Systems:  All components will be of commercial quality and systems will be designed and installed to meet code requirements of corresponding jurisdictions. Systems installed by a Connect technician or Plants Creative team member will be warrantied for one (1) year on parts and labor. Nozzles, heads, and valve boxes that are damaged by wildlife will not be covered under warranty.  Controllers and other components will be guaranteed in line with manufacturers warranty, if purchased and installed by a Hydrate or Plants Creative team member. However, controllers and other components that are damaged by weather events will not be covered. Accidental damage incurred during landscape maintenance by a Plants Creative crew will be repaired at no charge while damage incurred by another maintenance company will be repaired at the customer's expense. 


WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS FOR ALL CATEGORIES ABOVE:  Customer neglect including underwatering and/or overwatering plant material and sod as well as failure to provide industry-recommended maintenance for landscape elements constructed within this agreement will void warranty. Chemical damage done by other companies during routine maintenance will void warranties. Extreme and/or prolonged temperature swings and unpredictable weather events will void all warranties.  Damage done to lighting and irrigation fixtures by homeowners and/or contractors working on your home will not be covered under warranty.  Damage done by children and/or family pets will be excluded from warranty.  Additionally, damage done by utility companies performing work in the area will not be covered under warranty as well as conditions that are not present at the time of original work. Changes in drainage patterns due to work on neighboring properties, removal or addition of trees that affect light conditions, sewer or water main leaks, appearance of underground springs or sink holes will also be excluded. 


CHANGE ORDERS:  Concealed site conditions will incur change order fees.  Buried rocks, concrete/asphalt, natural springs, unexpected/unknown tree debris including large stumps and roots, excessive gravel, and private utilities that are not located by Georgia 811 affect our ability to perform landscape services as agreed upon within this contract.  Change order pricing for unexpected site conditions will be agreed upon prior to proceeding and will cover the additional time and expense involved. Additionally, changes that are requested by the customer after Plants Creative has received material deliveries to the job site or at our storage yard will incur a fee that covers the time involved to change out the material as well as any additional material expenses based on cost differences.


  • Change orders in excess of $2,500 will require a 50% deposit upon approval. The additional 50% will be invoiced upon completion and due upon receipt. In some situations, crews will be pulled off of the job site until change order materials are received and rescheduled within our next available opening.  


  • Change orders less than $2,500 will be invoiced upon completion and due upon receipt. In some situations, crews will be pulled off of the job site until change order materials are received and rescheduled within our next available opening.  


RIGHT TO MARKET:   Plants Creative Landscapes and it’s advertising/marketing partners retain the right to photograph and take video of the landscape work they have performed for the purpose of our website and/or company marketing materials, without remuneration or reimbursement to the client. No mention of name, address or otherwise personal information will be used in any publication of these photographs without your consent.


UTILITIES:  All reasonable caution will be taken to prevent damage to existing underground utility lines. However, Plants Creative cannot be responsible for damage to said facilities resulting from ordinary care in the execution of the work herein.  Locate requests will be made by our office prior to beginning work and will be kept current throughout the duration of every project. Plants Creative Landscapes cannot assume liabilities caused by inaccurate locate lines. Our crews are trained to make every attempt to discover all buried utilities prior to heavy excavation work, however, accidents can occur. In the event of a damaged utility,  it is the responsibility of Plants Creative to contact the utility company directly and arrange repairs as quickly as possible.


PERMITS:  Plants Creative Landscapes makes every effort to operate within the rules and regulations set forth by various municipalities. Upon request, our team will secure permits on behalf of our customers. Permitting will be discussed on a per-job basis with applicable fees presented to the homeowner for approval prior to proceeding.
